Jennie Smith-May is our new Head of Food Development. Jennie joined the Jack Rabbits Team in November 2015 and is responsible for everything food and drink.

Growing up in the rolling hills of the Derbyshire country side Jennie-May has been cooking almost from the time she could walk. An avid believer in wholesome nutrition and natural foods, she strives to create food that is not only delicious but healthy and exciting.

As an ex-jockey, Jennie-May remains a keen horse woman and animal lover. She grows her own vegetables and breeds her own  chickens, as an added bonus, when possible, the eggs are used in her mouth watering cake recipes.
Jennie-May’s years in the  world of Horse Racing has resulted in her being a Freelance Front of House Manager for private boxes and restaurants at Royal Ascot, Cheltenham Festival, Market Rasen, Nottingham and Uttoxeter racecourses.

Jennie-May has worked for, amongst others, Colin McGurran at his 5 Star Winteringham Fields Restaurant gaining valuable experience in creating gastronomic excellence with one of Britains top chefs.
Jennie-May was asked by Dr Oetker to develop and test recipes for their Wellcare range aimed at diabetic diets or low sugar diets.
Through her career Jennie-May has gained a reputation for excellence above and beyond expectations gaining experience from transforming freezer food cafes into high quality fresh food establishments, designing menus that exceeded expectations in taste and nutritional content.

Amongst her many qualifications Jennie-May has studied advanced health and remedial nutrition to learn about the importance of food on a cellular level and is a member of the Worshipful Company of Cooks.
